Running SAS interactively

  • First, open a terminal on the head node within X2go (or ssh to bluehive with X11 forwarding "-X")
  • Use the interactive command to get connected to a compute node with X11 forwarding enabled and with however many cores and memory you may need
     interactive -t 2:00:00 -n 1 -c 24 --mem=63g
  • Load the sas module
     module load sas
  • Launch SAS with command line options to set the amount of memory and number of cpus used by sas to match those requested for your job
     sas -cpucount $SLURM_CPUS_PER_TASK -threads -memsize `slurm-memsize`

Running SAS in batch mode

 #/bin/bash
 #SBATCH -p standard
 #SBATCH -t 1-00:00:00
 #SBATCH -n 1
 #SBATCH -c 24
 #SBATCH --mem=63gb
 module load sas
 srun sas -cpucount $SLURM_CPUS_PER_TASK -threads -memsize `slurm-memsize` myjob.sas
